Job Description

LOCATION: Various locations within Woodstock and Ingersoll. 
DURATION: Upon commencement and for the duration of the Child Development Practitioner Course
with potential for continued employment following graduation.
HOURS: 35 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: Ranges from $18.13 – $19.85 per hour*
*This wage includes $2.00/hour as per the 2023 Provincial Child Care Wage Enhancement as applicable

We are seeking friendly, energetic and engaged individuals who are:
• Currently enrolled, or registered to enroll in the Child Development Practitioner (ECE Apprenticeship) program
Prior to commencement of position, have obtained:
• Current Certification in Standard First Aid, including Infant and Child CPR
• Current Police Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check acceptable to Good Beginnings
• Safe Food Handling Certificate

POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidates will further develop their skills within the Early Childhood field by providing care for children from birth to 13 years of age, in a group setting under the direction of Good Beginnings Day Nursery. This role allows you to continue earning while you complete your studies towards an Ontario College Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Positions are available at our 4 Child Care Centres.
The successful candidates will provide support within the Early Learning Environment based on the needs of the program. Often times there may be no established pattern to work hours, and availability would be required from
6:30 am to 6:00 pm, as your shifts may fall anywhere within those hours, including the possibility of split shifts.


 

Other Requirements

The successful candidate will be mentored, and will be required to:
• Provide proof of registration and continued enrollment within the Child Development Practitioner Course
• Plan and implement activities based on the children’s needs and interests
• Have excellent communication skills: written, oral, listening, and non-verbal
• Work as a co-operative and respectful member of the team
• Adhere to all licensing requirements as set out by the Child Care and Early Years Act
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as established by the Board of Directors of Good Beginnings
The successful candidate will be required to adhere to all licensing requirements as set out by the Child Care and Early Years Act. Familiarity with the following resource would also be required, as Good Beginnings is governed under;
