Job Description

Summary of duties:                                                                                                             

The Summer Camp is a fast pace, fun environment that requires the Coordinator to demonstrate strong creativity and energetic attributes, providing supervision and leadership for a group of campers’ ages 10-21 with special needs. As the Camp Coordinator, you will be responsible to plan, organize and effectively implement and participate in all aspects of the Camp.  Strong supervision and leadership skills are required to coach camp counsellors and volunteers who will plan daily activities that appeal to campers. The Camp Coordinator is accountable for the health and safety of campers, staff and volunteers.  Strong communication skills are required to maintain positive relations with campers, families, and community partners. Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Qualifications:                                                                                                                        

A minimum of Grade 12 and enrolled in Post-Secondary school with knowledge of Woodstock community resources. The candidate must be between the age of 18 to 30 to qualify for the CSJ grant. Proven leadership skills demonstrating ability to lead others through rapidly changing circumstances.  Strong communication and computer skills including MSOffice required.  Previous Camp experience, knowledge of autism, mental health and developmental disabilities are an asset. Valid driver’s license (minimum G2).  Access to use of a reliable vehicle.  Standard First Aid and CPR certificate. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (which is considered two doses or a one dose series). WDDS strongly recommends staying up to date with your vaccinations.
