Job Description

 Responsibilities

 · Coordinate and oversee raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory. Create vendor forecasts and blanket order releases for steel and other raw material components.

 · Develop schedules for each work centre, balancing customer requirements, inventory investment, changeover costs, and manpower availability. Conduct weekly production schedules reviews with management.

 · Review customer releases and respond to customer or Commercial department to advise of any issues in meeting demand. Schedule customer shipments with freight vendors.

 · Calculate monthly inventory, manpower and production forecasts, and assist in preparation of annual business plan.

 · Oversee outside processors by communicating schedules, issuing purchase orders, arranging transportation, and resolving issues as needed.

 · Stay up-to-date on changes to import and export laws in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Coordinate customs bonds and powers of attorney. Monitor performance of Customs brokers and provide guidance when necessary.

 · Obtain and evaluate logistics, transportation and warehousing quotes. Monitor carrier performance. Maintain system parameters for automated Customs and shipping documents, and prepare documents for miscellaneous shipments.

 · Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Commercial and Operations to implement new products, utilize aged inventory, deal with quality issues, and change routings and Bills of Material. Requirements

 · Post-secondary education in business, supply chain management or similar discipline, and/or ASCM certification

 · Working knowledge of purchasing and inventory management, production planning, demand planning and forecasting

 · Strong computer skills, particularly expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to compile and interpret data

 · Leadership, presentation, organization, interpersonal and communication skills are required

 · Work experience in production planning or supply chain management would be an asset

 · Experience or training in U.S. and Canadian import and export regulations would be an asset

 · Experience or training in transportation and freight vendor management would be an asset
