This is where you are meant to be; become one of us as our:  CNC MACHINIST

 

As our CNC Machinist, you will work closely with the Machining Supervisor, experience challenges and rewards and have an opportunity to shape and influence our environment. 

 

Under the guidance of our Machining Supervisor, our CNC Machinist is responsible for the set-up, maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of CNC both Milling and Lathe machines.  Working closely with the general machining team you will ensure target and deadlines are met complying with OH&S legislation as well as J/E Bearing and Machine’s policies. As a result, your work has a direct impact towards fulfilling business goals.

 

Your skills and competencies will help you:

 

  • Set-up and operation of various CNC vertical and horizontal Mills and Lathes.
  • Working with FANUC-HAAS/Heidenhain/SIEMENS controllers.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  • Machine parts to tight tolerance and verify dimensions of parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances; complete inspection records as required.
  • Review machine set-up, programming, tooling for machining efficiency.
  • Maintain fixture rack organization; labeling, updating fixture spreadsheet.
  • Prepare tooling and fixturing for upcoming jobs.
  • Deburring machined parts for various jobs.
  • Participate in the company 5S activities.
  • Attend employee meetings, production meetings and safety talks as required.
  • Know and demonstrate safe working procedures in the shop environment.
  • Responsible for the general housekeeping of working area ensuring that it is cleaned and organized at all times.

Experience Required

We are seeking a person with the following skill set and competencies:

 

  • Grade 12 (OSSD) or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a CNC machining environment.
  • Related trades certifications, courses or diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is a significant asset.
  • Forklift and Crane experience considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
  • Understanding of safe work procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it applies to J/E Bearing and Machine Ltd.
  • Possess good time management skills, communication skills and problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and accommodate requests.
  • Availability to work overtime as business demands require.
  • Perform physical labour when required.
  • Must provide a clean criminal record check upon hire.
