Summer Livestock Technician

Total Swine Genetics is a well-established boar stud located in Tillsonburg, Ontario with a great team. We house boars (male pigs) for our genetic partners and collect semen that is sold to our customers across Southwestern Ontario. We run production 3 days a week, with a dedicated barn team that moves and collects from the boars. Our barn team is in charge of the overall well being and health of the animals. 

We are looking for a high school student to work in the barn the 3 production days each week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). This will cover vacations and other usual summer staffing shortages. 

Duties will include: 

-Feeding boars

-Moving boars from their pens to the collecting area

-Returning boars to their pens from the collecting area

-Collecting from the boars

-Running collections to the lab 

-Pressure washing and maintaining barn cleanliness
