Job Description
Want to actually make cheese or have another key role on our production team as a pasteurization technician? We have openings! Key roles like these require early mornings with shift start as early as 3 am. Training is provided on site, with the future opportunity to take third party training to further your knowledge and be fully certified.
Will require heavy lifting of 50+lbs back and forth continuously for 1-2 hours at times.
Pasteurization technicians and Cheesemakers will be required to perform regular production and packaging tasks when not active in their duties in the respective role. Some of the duties for the position include, but are not limited to;
- working with lab equipment to test cheese or chemical solutions
- accurately portioning and adding ingredients at precise times to make cheese
- keeping immaculate documentation of the processes
- performing sanitation on equipment
- assembling and disassembling equipment
- aid in packaging of multiple formats of cheese
- filling and emptying presses with cheese(requires heavy lifting of 50+lbs continuous for 1-2 hours)
- performing tasks with regards to the finishing of the cheese such as shoveling, cutting and milling
- preventative maintenance on general production equipment
- operation of a metal detector
- other various documentation
Preference to workers with experience in food preparation in CFIA, HACCP, BRC facilities though training will be provided for those that do not have experience. Cheese factory experience is a plus. Able to lift 50+lbs repetitively for periods of time.
Applicants that complete a 3 month training period will be eligible for full benefits and matched group RRSP contributions.
Wage increases at 3 months and 1 year.
Need to be able to start immediately.
