Job Description
The student will work with United Way Oxford staff, Board, volunteers, community partners, funded agencies, donors, and citizens. They will provide front-line reception/customer service for United Way and building tenants with an emphasis on providing information on local supports to those requiring assistance. They will help create, develop, implement and manage special events and initiatives such as Day of Caring, Oxford’s Supplies4Students, community engagement opportunities, etc. Tasks include recruiting volunteers, managing registrations, marketing and communications, social media promotions, securing sponsorship, making presentations, project management, fundraising, etc. They will also assist with the creation and development of annual marketing material and assisting with capturing local impact stories. The student will perform database management and updating as required, project research, general marketing, and overall office administration and support duties.
Education
Experience Required
Customer service experience &/or office experience an asset. Strong creativity and communication skills required as well as excellent computer skills (MS Office). This position is appropriate for a student in community/social services, marketing and communications, social media, journalism, business, etc. A valid Ontario Driver’s License is required.
