Good Beginnings is a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors comprised of parents/guardians and community representatives, who are committed to providing high quality early learning and child care programs to the children and families of Oxford County since 1986. It is our mission to be a leader in the provision of quality child care programs, which are affordable and accessible to families in Woodstock and the surrounding communities, delivered by professional and caring Educators.
LOCATION: Oxford Gardens Child Care Centre (423 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock, ON)
START DATE: October 2024
HOURS: 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
The successful candidate will provide mentorship, support and coverage in the programs as needed. They will be required to maintain flexibility, and an open availability in between the hours of 6:30AM and 6:00PM to accommodate needs of the Child Care Centre. At times, split shifts may be required.
COMPENSATION
RATE OF PAY: Wage range based on experience from $26.77 to $30.93/hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education (and/or hold a diploma that is otherwise approved as per the Ministry of Education)
• Current Member in good standing with College of Early Childhood Educators
• Experience working in a Supervisory and Administrative Child Care/School Age role is an asset
• Strong task management and leadership skills, including experience in mentorship and team building
• Excellent communication skills: written, oral, listening, and non-verbal are essential
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office would be considered an asset
• Familiarity with the following resources would be required;
o How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years
o Child Care and Early Years Act
POSITION SUMMARY
Good Beginnings is seeking to hire an exceptional individual to fulfill the Child Care Assistant Supervisor role.
The Child Care Assistant Supervisor’s primary role is to provide mentorship and support to the staff of the Child Care Centre. At times, they will provide coverage to ensure quality programming and ratios are met, and they will integrate Good Beginnings’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging values into their environment. They are to ensure that the policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors, regulations under the Child Care and Early Years Act, and the Confidentiality Agreements are adhered to within the Early Learning environments.
They will actively promote the Mission, Vision, and Program Statements of Good Beginnings Day Nursery Woodstock Inc.
Mentoring and Communication
• Build strong and meaningful relationships with staff in order to sustain communication, and properly address any feedback, concerns, or updates
• Support and mentor new employees through their orientation
• Observe the programs and mentor employees on a daily basis
• Plan and observe the curriculum to ensure it is implemented, maximized, and effective within each environment
• Provide guidance and materials to enhance the program
Administration
The Child Care Assistant Supervisor will provide back up coverage for administrative duties during the absence of the Child Care Supervisor.
