Job Description
Elm Hurst Inn and Spa, a renowned hospitality destination, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in hospitality finance, strong analytical skills, and a passion for providing exceptional financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end reconciliations and close procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reports.
- Prepare special financial reports as requested by the General Manager.
- Prepare external reports for government agencies.
- Develop budgets and collaborate with department heads to create accurate financial projections.
- Provide administrative support to other departments as required.
- Supervise payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing.
- Ensure timely scheduling and completion of inventory taking.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Human Resources, WSIB regulations, Health and Safety, and payroll processes.
Education
Experience Required
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in finance or accounting.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management.
- Preference for candidates with financial certification.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- In-depth understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience in hotel accounting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Accounting Core software and/or Maestro is a strong asset.
- Certification in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Accounting management: 8 years (preferred)
