Financial Controller

Elm Hurst Inn and Spa, a renowned hospitality destination, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in hospitality finance, strong analytical skills, and a passion for providing exceptional financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end reconciliations and close procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reports.
• Prepare special financial reports as requested by the General Manager.
• Prepare external reports for government agencies.
• Develop budgets and collaborate with department heads to create accurate financial projections.
• Provide administrative support to other departments as required.
• Supervise payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing.
• Ensure timely scheduling and completion of inventory taking.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of Human Resources, WSIB regulations, Health and Safety, and payroll processes.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in finance or accounting.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management.
• Preference for candidates with financial certification.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• In-depth understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Experience in hotel accounting is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Accounting Core software and/or Maestro is a strong asset.
• Certification in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) is an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• Accounting management: 8 years (preferred)
