Job Description

South Gate Centre is a registered, non-profit charity providing fitness, health, social, recreational and leisure activities to older adults.  They are looking for a dynamic leader to grow their team.  Must be passionate about wellness for adults of all ages, making a difference in the community and in the lives of others.  Must be someone not looking to be led but willing to lead.  Must be quick to adapt to changing conditions, resolving conflicts and making sure that everyone gets along with each other.  Employer values people with strong work ethics and skills, diversity, kindness, empathy, confidence, excellent customer service skills, and individuals that take the initiative, show leadership, laugh, and smile often.                                                                                                                                                               

Main responsibilities include:                                                                                                                         

*Support South Gate Centre operations/staff by maintaining office systems and supervising office volunteers.                                                                                                                                          

*Maintains office services/operations by organizing office operations and procedures, designing filing systems, reviewing and approving supply requisitions, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.                                                                                                                                                   

*Achieves financial objectives by analyzing budgets, completing daily cash summaries, reconciliations and deposits, creating invoices and tax receipts.                                                  

*Manage internal IT for the facility with assistance from IT provider.                                        

*Maintains office staff of volunteers and employees by orienting, training, assigning and monitoring clerical functions.                                                                                                                    

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                                                              

*Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business, Bookkeeping/Accounting or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of office leadership experience.                               

*Experience working in a high-paced office setting.                                                                            

*Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.                                   

*Outstanding organization, initiative and time-management skills.                                           

*Training and leadership experience.                                                                                                   

*Critical thinking, strong initiative and leadership/management skills.                                                                    

*Ability to multi-task and handle various requests form different sources at the same time.                           

*Extensive knowledge of the services SGC offers.                                                                     

*Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems (Perfect Minds), Excel, social media platforms. 

*Familiarity with computers, phone systems, copy & debit machines and other office equipment.
