Job Description

Job Duties

OBJECTIVES

Support the objectives of the plant floor. Overall responsibility is to build trucks within the allowed timeframe, while ensuring Safety First, Quality Always practices.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as a team in order to meet daily production requirements.
  • Follow SWC’s and JOS’s as required in assigned process and assemble parts and components on vehicle as outlined using hand and power tools and/or other provided equipment.
  • Connect cables, tubes and wires to complete assemblies and installations.
  • Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories such as engines, transmissions, door panels, instrument panels, etc. using hand and power tools and other aids like overhead cranes.
  • Perform inspections on process and communicate any defects to the Team Leader.
  • Reduce DPU by ensuring quality standards and accuracy expectations are met
  • Assist with cross training and supporting team members in other processes when requested by the Team Leader
  • Participate in job rotations as requested by Management.
  • Monitor equipment used in your area and report to Team Leader, if needed
  • Complete check sheets each day prior to operation of overhead cranes
  • Support and participate in 5S and Kaizen activities within the Assembly department.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, 2000 by wearing proper PPE and following safe working practices.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Picking of parts and feeding the line on time and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring parts are correct for each department.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work schedule is subject to change by Hino Motors Canada Ltd as to meet its production needs. The current work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Our industry may require employees to work more than their regularly scheduled workday hours and shifts from time to time as per Employment Standards Act, 2000 Section 17- “Hours of Work Agreement”.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member will work in a manufacturing environment, mainly in a factory setting. The Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

 

 

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of Assembly processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Hino production system, including Health and Safety, Quality, Standardized Work, Kaizen, and 5S
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Team Player and works well with others.
  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner and adapt to changes quickly.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • College Diploma or University Degree in a related field from a recognized post-secondary educational institute is an asset, but not required.
  • Overhead Crane experience is an asset, but not required.

Experience:

  • Factory Experience: 1 year (preferred)
