Job Description
As Facilitator & Intake Administrator at the MSC you will:
- Provide a positive and professional image while upholding the MSC’s established Policies, Procedures, Mission and Vision.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality of all information as required by the MSC’s Policies, Procedures and Program Practices.
- Research, develop and facilitate employment related workshops, designed to provide instruction to assist clients with establishing strong job and career development skills, positive attitudes and employment readiness.
- Monitor client motivation and understanding to ensure the transfer of knowledge of the information provided and initiate additional guidance as required.
- Refer clients to the appropriate employment services team members for additional and appropriate assistance.
- Maintain case load and create required accurate reports for organizational and individual purposes for the various workshop initiatives, completing skills assessments and evaluations to ensure that workshop initiatives are meeting client’s needs.
- Pursue career development and continuing education opportunities to maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of trends and issues that affect the position.
- Completing client intake assessments as required.
- Respect and protect the rights of clients, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and their right to live free from retaliation, discrimination, and abuse.
Education
Experience Required
What you bring:
- Post-secondary education in community services or related field with a Career Development Practitioner Certificate (CSP) preferred.
- Degree or Diploma in a social services or suitable equivalent would be an asset.
- Two years of experience working in a community services with direct experience facilitating career and employment related workshops.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse clients, facing employment barriers.
- Advanced computer skills, with experience using a client data management system, preferably CaMS
