Job Description
The right person will have the following characteristics:
- You are a team player
- You are open minded, accepting of others’ differences
- You are creative in ways of introducing a variety of community experiences and activities to people
- You are experienced in and comfortable to provide positive systems support and crisis interventions supports to people with behavioural styled communication
- You are experienced, comfortable and able to intervene in situations that may be aggressive
- You are experienced in providing daily living supports, supporting personal health care, mental health and wellness support, and dispensing medications accurately
- You are able to work professionally, interact well with others and are tolerant of others who may be intolerant of you
- You have excellent listening skills
- You have excellent communication and accurate writing skills
- You have a post-secondary degree/diploma in a social service field
- You have further education and training related to health, behaviour specialties
- You have current First Aid, CPR and NVCI
- You have a valid Ontario driver’s licence and a reliable car to use for work
- You have proven ability through experience to:
- Accommodate flexible supports
- Develop and follow individual support plans
- Provide support to individuals with a variety of abilities in their homes and community

Education
Experience Required
- Post-Secondary Degree/ Diploma in a Social / Human Service Discipline
- Experience and ability in using creative ways of providing support to people in a range of community involvement and life situations
- Experience and ability to provide positive systems support to people with behavioral self-management plans
- Experience and ability to plan and monitor behavioral interventions
- Experience and ability to facilitate, develop and support person centered planning, on-going development and evaluation
- Ability to flexible and accommodating with work hours
- Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
- Experience and accuracy with medication policy and dispensing medications
- Experience advocating for proper medical interventions and social inclusion
- Current First Aid and NVCI
- Valid driver’s license and reliable car to use for work
- Good attendance will be recognized
