Job Description

The Wholesale and Barn Coordinator oversees the day-to-day functions of the wholesale delivery teams and barn staff, providing the highest level of service to both employees and customers and ensuring the smooth operation of all deliveries. This hands-on role offers opportunities to try new things as well as incorporate your own skills, interests, and goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the wholesale delivery process to ensure smooth operations
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prepare harvest and packing totals 
  • Communicate with wholesale customers to confirm and secure daily orders
  • Increase wholesale sales by communicating with existing customers while also finding new ones, with a particular focus on US customers 
  • Track, organize, and maintain records of wholesale orders
  • Use invoicing software to create and issue accurate daily invoices for wholesale deliveries
  • Verify the accuracy and traceability of wholesale deliveries before they leave the farm
  • Provide the highest quality assurance of all wholesale orders
  • Collaborate with barn staff to confirm inventory availability, manage supplies effectively, and assist with packing orders
  • Manage driver schedules and optimize delivery routes
  • Work in collaboration with offsite retail sales coordinator to oversee inventory for Market Box and farmers’ market orders

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in agriculture, project management, sales, or a related field
  • Post-secondary education in agriculture, project management, sales, or a similar discipline is considered an asset
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects, with a history of taking initiative and leadership in previous roles
  • A passion for local farming and produce and familiarity with agriculture industry
  • Ability to speak conversational Spanish a definite asset. Opportunity to assist a keen would-be language learner.
  • Proficient in email, telephone communication, social media platforms, Point of Sale systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, create actionable plans, and follow through
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and decision-making skills in dynamic environments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect empathetically with both staff and customers
  • Willingness to work side by side with barn crew, knowing that hands will get dirty!

Reporting:

This role will be independent but requires weekly (at least) meetings with supervisors and other upper management employees. This role will also require regular collaboration with barn crew leaders. Support and guidance are readily available.
