PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, performance-driven leader to join our team. Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, and in accordance with both the Child & Family Services Act and the Policies and Procedures of Wellkin, the Supervisor, Youth Engagement and Community Development, as a member of the leadership team, is accountable for overseeing meaningful youth and family engagement at Wellkin and the Oxford County Youth Wellness Hub (Brightside Youth Hub), day-to-day operations of Brightside Youth Hub, and representing Wellkin and Brightside Youth Hub in the community.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Supervisor, Youth Engagement and Community Development will exemplify a passion for leadership and the tenacity to change culture, embracing continuous improvement for the children and youth and families we serve.

DUTIES:

Brightside Youth Hub Supervision:

Oversee Effective Daily Operations

  • Work collaboratively with service delivery partners, the leadership team, and Hub staff to plan, develop, implement, and monitor the YWHO Model, continuum of care, and Core Components of the Integrated Youth Services model
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, staff, and community relations for the Hub, including managing operational issues and ensuring safe operations in a busy and flexible drop-in environment
  • Engage with service delivery partners to develop and maintain a weekly Hub schedule
  • Liaise and partner with agency administration, office, and IT departments as needed
  • Manage adoption of the YWHO Virtual Platform as the virtual services option for the Hub, and work with the YWHO Provincial Office to train staff on platform use

Provide Supervision and Support to Staff and Partners

  • Ensure new staff members and service partners receive orientation to the YWHO Model and Hub operations, policies, and protocols
  • Support and facilitate access to YWHO Provincial Office training and capacity- building activities for Hub staff and service delivery partners
  • Support Youth/Family Engagement Facilitators to engage youth and family members in decision-making and Hub planning, implementation, and evaluation activities through youth and family engagement opportunities.
  • Facilitate partnership development and oversee engagement of community partners in the development of service pathways and Hub programs
  • Represent the Hub as part of the provincial YWHO Network, including attending YWHO Network operational meetings and working collaboratively with the YWHO Provincial Office and the Provincial Implementation and Evaluation Team, in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Executive Director
  • Participate in community committees, meetings, and events as a Hub representative and promote the Hub in the community

Oversee Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation Practices

  • Oversee adoption of the YWHO data collection platform (My Wellness Passport) and the use of Measurement-Based Care by Hub staff and service delivery partners
  • Work with the YWHO Provincial Office to identify key performance, evaluation, and monitoring measures and facilitate evaluation data collection activities as required
  • Monitor data collection/input processes to ensure consistency across Hub staff and service delivery partners and compliance with PHIPA/privacy requirements
  • Conduct regular data review and analysis to identify trends, evaluate service effectiveness in meeting community needs and achieving the YWHO mandate, and foster an environment of data-informed decision-making and service delivery
  • Submit monitoring data and reports to the YWHO Provincial Office as required
  • Support the development of YWHO’s strategic goals and ensure the implementation of annual business plans and special projects as applicable in collaboration with the Clinical Director

Wellkin Youth and Family Engagement:

Provide Supervision and Support to Staff

  • Supervise, coach, and support Youth/Family Engagement Facilitators, including performance management and supporting professional development goals
  • Train and provide orientation to Youth/Family Engagement Facilitators
  • Support Youth/Family Engagement Facilitators to engage youth and family members in decision-making and planning, implementation, and evaluation activities for Wellkin through youth and family advisories and engagement opportunities.

Oversee Effective Daily Operations

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of strategies/a work plan for promoting meaningful youth and family engagement in alignment with youth and family engagement policies and quality standards
  • Oversee allocation of agency resources to support youth and family engagement, including honoraria and staffing for engagement work
  • Work collaboratively with Youth/Family Engagement Facilitators to present ideas from youth, family, and caregivers for new initiatives or strategies to Wellkin’s management as appropriate

Oversee Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation Practices

  • Monitor data collection and input processes and complete documentation/ reports as required

Quality and Continuous Improvement:

  • Oversee implementation of Quality Standards for Family Engagement and Youth Engagement, ensuring best practices are embedded in Wellkin service delivery
  • Develop and implement evaluation strategies for youth and family engagement activities, including the identification of key targets and measures, in collaboration with Youth/Family Engagement Facilitators, youth, and family/caregivers
  • Prepare for accreditation site reviews and maintain the standards for accreditation
  • Adhere to the Child and Family Services Act, any other relevant legislation, the agency policies and procedures, and Ministry policy directions
  • Participate in individual and agency development plans and activities

Education

Bachelor Degree

Experience Required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Worker, or equivalent from a university or college of recognized standing
  • Previous experience working in youth-focused non-profit community agencies
  • 3-5 years of experience in youth and family engagement, community development, and coordinating social and well-being supports for youth and families
  • Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with diverse community agencies
  • Police/Vulnerable Sector Check
  • First Aid/CPR; SMG Crisis Intervention/Prevention; ASIST Training
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and insurance and access to a reliable motor vehicle with the ability to travel between Oxford and Elgin Counties as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated understanding of local community issues impacting youth and the needs and challenges facing diverse and equity-deserving youth
  • Knowledge of community resources for youth and families across a continuum of care
  • Strong verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship and leadership and ensure accountability
  • Extensive knowledge of health equity approaches, including anti-oppressive and anti- racist practice, 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, community engagement, cultural safety, trauma- informed care, harm reduction, and human rights and accessibility frameworks
  • Experience leading or supporting the engagement of youth and family or caregivers with lived/living experience
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing project-level plans and processes
  • Proficient computer skills, including in Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with data analysis tools is an asset
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism; familiarity with privacy legislation (e.g., PHIPA) is an asset
  • Experience with report and proposal/grant writing is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset
