Job Description
The Corporation of the Township of Blandford-Blenheim has an opening for youth as Records Management Clerk for the summer in the Clerks Department. The successful applicant(s) will be required to provide assistance to the Clerks department with the administration and maintenance of the Township’s Document Management System. This includes the scanning of historical and current documents onto an electronic database. The position will play an important role in data entry as well as preparing physical records for digitization and support this project by tracking progress. Other Clerks departmental duties, as assigned.
Education
Experience Required
• Must have an acceptable Police Criminal Check.
• Active enrollment or degree in post-secondary education at an accredited educational institution; enrollment in Business Administration, Office Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, or another relevant discipline is considered an asset.
• Related cooperative education/work experience is considered an asset; preference may be given to those with experience in a municipal or public sector environment, but public sector experience is not a requirement
• Experience with categorizing, retrieving and refiling records as well as organizing their contents.
• Knowledge of document management is considered an asset.
• Superior organizational and problem-solving skills with an excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and other interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
