Job Description
The Press/Forge Engineering Technician provides support and direction to the Forging area employees. In consultation with the production and maintenance teams, they ensure quality production and maintenance activities for that area (2 shift operation).
Responsibilities
- Oversee effective operation of the press/forge operation on two-shift operations.
- Responsibility of OEE of her press/forge operation.
- Oversee effective operation of the press/forge on two (2) shift rotation.
- Collaborate with employee to ensure production of quality forgings.
- Consult with Production Manager and Maintenance Manager daily in order to align on production plant and maintenance activities.
- Actively participate in regular staff communication sessions.
- Project assignments as required.
- Coordinate work performed by outside vendors
- Excellent problem-solving and trouble shooting skills.
Education
Experience Required
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation is an asset.
- Design equipment improvements and input into preventative maintenance program.
- Standardized procedures and create clear SOP’s or work instructions.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Initiative taking and able to motivate others.
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization along with outside contractor and vendors.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Press/Forging process with ability to trouble shoot problems.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and effective, prompt decisions.
