FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
As our Financial Accountant, you contribute to the healthy financial operations of our Company and are an important part in providing overall general financial accounting support. You are responsible for ensuring the quality and availability of financial information, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and adhering to accepted accounting principles. In general, responsibilities include performing various financial transactions, journal entries, account analysis and reporting, reconciliations, as well as administration of all Accounts Payable functions.
Your skills and competencies will help you:
- Prepare and process journal entries, month-end closing procedures and account reconciliations (Bank, AP, Intercompany, credit cards etc.)
- Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and tax regulations, including HST compliance.
- Organize and maintain accounting records in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Understand and communicate costing issues that may arise from PO receipts and AP accruals.
- Assis in the budgeting and variance analysis, as and when required.
- Maintain vendors master data in the ERP system with supporting documents.
- Manage a timely and accurate recording of the vendors’ invoices and credits. This includes communicating with vendors and the purchasing team.
- Manage planning and processing of the company’s payments as per the guidelines provided.
- Attend to internal and/or external audit queries as requested/required.
- Provides back-up for other accounting positions as required.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Controller.

Education
Experience Required
We are seeking a person with the following skill set and competencies:
- Self-motivated and result-oriented individual, capable of managing the assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at collaborating to achieve goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required.
- Candidates with professional designations (CPA / CMA / Equivalent international Designations) highly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Additional experience in cost accounting and/or accounts payable is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Harmonized Sales Tax.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, Power point and Outlook is required. Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI and Tableau, is advantageous.
- Experience with ERP systems and a comprehensive understanding of business processes such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Record-to-Report (R2R) are essential. Experience with Global Shop ERP an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and uphold strong ethical and professional integrity.
