Job Description
Position Overview:
Licensed Electrician with a strong mechanical aptitude to join our tire retread plant team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment through electrical maintenance and repairs. Additionally, you will be required to perform mechanical tasks as needed to support the overall functioning of the plant. You'll have the advantage of Michelin's support for troubleshooting and repair, ensuring you have the resources you need to excel in your role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine electrical inspections and maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems within the tire retread plant.
- Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions to production.
- Collaborate with Michelin support teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Perform mechanical tasks such as equipment assembly, disassembly, and maintenance when required to ensure optimal plant operation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and repairs conducted.
- Participate in plant safety initiatives, adhering to all safety protocols, standards, and guidelines.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the plant's electrical and mechanical systems.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in electrical and mechanical maintenance to ensure the plant remains up-to-date and competitive.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals, quality standards, and operational targets.
Education
Experience Required
Qualifications
- Valid electrician's license/certification from a recognized institution.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform mechanical tasks as needed.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, control panels, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for both electrical and mechanical tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and Michelin support personnel.
- Commitment to safety protocols and practices.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
