Who are we looking for?
At ArcelorMittal Tubular Products, we are looking for someone to join us at the forefront of the steels industry. As part of our HR team, you’ll be an important representative of the organization, contributing to the administrative aspects of formulating, implementing, and controlling our human resources strategies, policies, and guidelines.
Working at our Woodstock location, your responsibilities will include the following:
Job Duties
- Oversee and maintain the job posting process.
- Post job postings internally and externally as required.
- Screen resumes and forward potential candidates to hiring manager.
- Set up interviews and applicant testing; complete reference checks; write up offer letters.
- Schedule and deliver new hire HR orientation.
- Follow up during probation period to ensure probation forms are completed and returned to HR.
- Maintain new hire orientation documentation checklist.
- Ensure new hire training is completed.
- Administration of all employee benefits programs, including maintaining employee data, responding to inquiries, investigating issues, and assisting with claims.
- Schedule, plan, execute, and communicate employee engagement activities.
- Maintain Service Awards program, prepare recognition letters for employees, keep track of costs related to service awards, and prepare requisitions for payment of invoices.
- Participate in Health and Wellness committee, plan, and execute H&W activities.
- Responsible for hourly time and attendance (Kronos) entries.
- Track and maintain attendance system, advising production supervisors of progressive discipline.
- Complete status change forms as needed for new hires, promotions, wage changes, etc.
- Issue cheque requisitions for employee reimbursements for completions of educational courses.
- Act as a backup for Canadian Payroll, Pension & Benefits Administrator.
- Prepare and distribute lay-off / recall notices for hourly employees as per the Collective Agreement, inform Canadian Payroll Administrator of impending lay-offs / recalls.
- Send out organizational announcements.
- Maintain HRIS system with accurate data.
- Responsible for all employee training records.
- Maintain employee files.
- Responsible for control of HR documents, initiating change requests as required.
- Order all office supplies for the Human Resources Department.
- Handle all incoming calls with professionalism, respond to all email inquiries in a timely fashion, maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with privileged information, prioritizing workflow to respond to employee / company needs.
- Provide administrative support within department as required.
- Complete projects as assigned by Human Resources Manager
Education
Experience Required
What You'll Need:
- Completion of certificate program in Human Resource Management (or equivalent work experience)
- 1 to 3 years' relevant experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Exceptional computer skills relating to MS Office, HRIS, payroll, etc.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with privileged information.
