Job Description

 

Senior Welder / Fitter

Tasks:

  • Applicant MUST be a CWB Certified Welding Inspector This skill is a 100% requirement to be considered
  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. Cut material using automatic saws and prepare for fabrication)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded & post weld clean-up
  • Align components and clamp pieces
  • 10 years Minimum Weld components using Mig & FCAW welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Forklift Certification required

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as welder / fabricator
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, tape measure, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Quality workmanship, efficiency and ability to work independently
  • CWB Certified Welding Supervisor a Must (others will NOT be considered)
  • Professional Certification: a CWB welding certificate is required in GMAW
  • All candidates must possess a valid G driver’s license

· Able to lift 60 lbs.

Training will be an ongoing process as the candidate shows ability to assist and operate different machines. There will be opportunities to learn and progress.
