Job Description

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Establish quarterly goals & objectives with Operations Manager
  • Ensure around the clock tooling support for production during all production hours
  • Schedule & assist tool room staff to ensure that production tooling & related equipment is ready to meet customer requirements
  • Expand tooling supply base to achieve adequate supply at reasonable pricing
  • Prepare sample submissions & quotes for engineering change requests
  • Assist Quality in TS16949 Tooling management requirements
  • Implement & oversee Die Preventative Maintenance Systems
  • Assist in setting annual capital spending requirements for Tooling Dept.
  • Develop vendor relations for effective & economical spares inventory control
  • Decision making on tooling repairs to ensure timely & cost-effective solutions
  • Negotiate repair costs with outside shops
  • Quote & purchase die replacement details with outside vendors
  • Update tooling prints as required

Qualifications we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

  • College, university graduate or equivalent trade experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and facilitation skill sets
  • 10+ years in tooling field
  • 5+ years of tooling supervision/management
  • General design capability with AutoCAD, Unigraphics or similar
  • Strong in-press troubleshooting ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills

 Travel:

  • Must be willing to travel as needed throughout the US, Canada and Mexico to visit manufacturing sites, suppliers and customers.

 

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

  • College, university graduate or equivalent trade experience

  • 10+ years in tooling field
  • 5+ years of tooling supervision/management
  • General design capability with AutoCAD, Unigraphics or similar
  • Strong in-press troubleshooting ability
