Job Description
Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Establish quarterly goals & objectives with Operations Manager
- Ensure around the clock tooling support for production during all production hours
- Schedule & assist tool room staff to ensure that production tooling & related equipment is ready to meet customer requirements
- Expand tooling supply base to achieve adequate supply at reasonable pricing
- Prepare sample submissions & quotes for engineering change requests
- Assist Quality in TS16949 Tooling management requirements
- Implement & oversee Die Preventative Maintenance Systems
- Assist in setting annual capital spending requirements for Tooling Dept.
- Develop vendor relations for effective & economical spares inventory control
- Decision making on tooling repairs to ensure timely & cost-effective solutions
- Negotiate repair costs with outside shops
- Quote & purchase die replacement details with outside vendors
- Update tooling prints as required
Qualifications we are looking for include, but are not limited to:
- College, university graduate or equivalent trade experience
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and facilitation skill sets
- 10+ years in tooling field
- 5+ years of tooling supervision/management
- General design capability with AutoCAD, Unigraphics or similar
- Strong in-press troubleshooting ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills
Travel:
- Must be willing to travel as needed throughout the US, Canada and Mexico to visit manufacturing sites, suppliers and customers.
Education
Experience Required
- College, university graduate or equivalent trade experience
