The primary duty of this position is handling, photographing and collecting data and information on artifacts and entering that information into the collections management system (Past Perfect 5). This position will also involve providing tours for museum visitors, working as part of a team to plan, prepare and lead educational programs and summer event activities, promoting the museum through social media platforms, blogs, posters and articles, and keeping the museum buildings in a clean and orderly state.
Preferred applicants will be enrolled in a post-secondary program relevant to the museum field, such as museum studies, history, archaeology, or education, or will be a senior high school student with a demonstrable interest in museums intending to pursue studies similar areas. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, computer skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. They must be self-motivated and be able to stay on task to work as part of a team or independently. They must demonstrate good interpersonal and customer service skills and be comfortable with a leadership role.

Experience Required
Funded through Young Canada Works. Candidates must meet YCW eligibility requirements. 1. Students must be in full-time education and intend to return to full-time education in the fall 2. Candidates must be between 15 and 30 years old.
