Job Description
The successful applicants will meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a program related to the field of Developmental Services or similar and/or have experience working in the developmental sector/summer camp setting, youth programs, recreation, working with children or related field,
- Proof of current First Aid/CPR certification,
- Ability to lead, organize and implement program activities,
- Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision,
- Strong organization and communication skills,
- The ability to lead and participate in camp activities which may include but are not limited to physical games, swimming, hiking and activities.
- Must have the ability to support children when needed for safety in general activities.
- Have a valid G driver’s license with proof of insurance.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities in an integrated setting each week. Activities may include crafts, nature, songs, games, swimming, etc.
- Identify and respond to different situations that may arise from individual campers,
- Ensure the activity locations are kept clean, organized and free of litter,
- Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to the designated leadership contact
- Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp program including enforcing and following safety guidelines associated with the camp, being responsible for the camper’s safety and their whereabouts at all times.
The hours of work will be Monday – Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm, excluding statutory holidays.
Camp begins on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 and runs until Friday August 16, 2024. Successful candidates must be available to participate in planning sessions prior to the start of camp.
**Please note the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of full vaccination (two or more doses) against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.**
