Summer Student - Office/Program Assistant

Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Office Manager and Program Coordinator.
- Taking phone orders for frozen meals and inputting into online system.
- Answer questions from the membership about program activities going on throughout the Centre.
- Assist in making up tickets, printing off game cards, Nuggets (newsletters), program guides and other pamphlets for the Centre.
- Support management of the front reception operations and assist with the inner office tasks as needed.
- Arrange training and support office volunteers with lunches and filling in where needed.
- Auditing daily attendance for all activities, memberships database and activity statistics.
- Assist in supporting programs, activities and special events as needed.
- Assist in maintaining registrations for registered programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Required:
- Computer Skills: Excellent analytical skills, very strong understanding of computers, working knowledge of Microsoft office suite; competency in data collection, project creation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in cash handling - involving accounting procedures, reconciliation, counting and managing receipts.
- Quality customer support and multitasking skills.
- Creative & thoughtful team player.
- Ability to take positive initiative and work independently.
- Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance.
Assets:
- Experience managing e-commerce product inventory.
- Excellent time management & organizational skills
- Retail or office experience.
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Self-starter, creative problem solver with good decision-making skills.
- experience working with Seniors and or Volunteers
Terms of Employment:
Full-Time – temporary position, June 3rd, 2024 – August 23rd,2024
- Hours: 30 hrs. per week
- Wage: $16.50 hr. + 4% holiday pay
Hours – day, some evenings and weekend shifts
- This position is with South Gate Centre, 191 Old Wellington St S Woodstock.
- This position reports to: Office Manager & Program Coordinator Manager.
