Job Description

As a permanent full-time Order Selector on night shift, you will be required to pick on average of 1,600 cases per shift, with each case weighing an average of 25 pounds, up to a maximum of 70 pounds. Warehouse environments fluctuate between Dry, Cooler, and Freezer temperatures. Starting hourly wage is $26.52 per hour and then increases to $27.56 per hour after 6 months and then to $30.68 after one full year in the role. $1.00 per hour night shift premium and an additional $1.00 per hour freezer premium if working in that area. Additional hourly rate increases occur each year. Group Benefits available on day 1 - no waiting period!

Shift starts are between 5:00pm and 5:30pm, with 4 shifts per week occurring from Sunday to Friday. Each shift is scheduled up to 12 hours with overtime as required. Due to nature of business, some shifts will be required to work on stat holidays with additional stat pay or time in lieu of.

This can be a physically demanding role, with continual walking, standing, stretching, bending, and lifting throughout the entire shift. However, this can also be a very rewarding role with additional pay incentives that can be earned - with the potential to earn up to $1,000 weekly in incentives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an acceptable level of production and accuracy while selecting foodservice orders.
  • Loads pallets to ensure safe delivery of product to customers.
  • Adheres to all Preferred Work Methods and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Understand and comply with Sysco’s policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety.
  • Carries out duties in a safe manner as instructed through safety training.
  • Participate in various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company and safety).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager and Supervisors.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • English fluency
  • High volume warehouse experience using a pallet jack and/or forklift is beneficial
  • Medium to high level of physical exertion is required; repetitive, continuous lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to work in a cold/freezer environment.
  • Safety conscious with a teamwork attitude
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
