Job Description

POSITION: Family Resource Coordinator (Competition #2024-58)

LOCATION: Human Services, OCAB

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary Full-time (up to 18 months)

REPORTING TO: Supervisor of Family and Children Services

UNION AFFILIATION: Non-Union

WAGE RANGE: $31.32/hr-$39.15/hr ($57,002.00 - $71,253.00 annually).

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Family and Children Services, the Family Resource Coordinator will use a family-centred, collaborative approach to service delivery to leverage and further develop the partnerships that EarlyON Child and Family Centres have with community services to create specific strategies and/or targeted approaches to support the unique needs of families in Oxford County.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Education or a Social Services field preferred. Related professional experience in family support, systems navigation, or child studies may be considered.
  • 5 years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Demonstrated experience creating digital content and utilizing online and social media formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and manage an individual work plan.
  • Strong knowledge of services and supports available to families and children.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver virtual and in-person programming to small and large groups to meet goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of relevant pedagogy and frameworks, including How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years and the Child care and Early Years Act.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others and build beneficial relationships with key stakeholders, including parents/caregivers and community partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative, open to new ideas, and knowledge of a variety of tools and techniques for creating connections with families.
  • Ability to use professional judgement to manage difficult situations involving emergencies, crisis, interpersonal conflict and negative behaviour.
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications relevant to the position.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and handle necessary tools and materials to deliver programs across Oxford County.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license required.
