Full-Time 

Facilities Maintenance Technician 

 

The Township of South-West Oxford requires a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to fill a new position. Our Township has a population of 7,730 with twelve (12) parks, five (5) community halls, the Beachville Museum, three (3) fire halls, one (1) Township office, one (1) public works shop, plus other storage buildings. 

 

Scope of Position: 

To assist with the maintenance, operations, renovations, and construction activities of all Township-owned/leased facilities, building systems, and grounds (including playground and related equipment) to ensure operational efficiency, energy management, health and safety, and accessibility of Township facilities.

Education & Experience 

  •  Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent 
  • Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is preferred 
  • Diploma in Facilities Management, or equivalent post-secondary education in specialized trade courses in a related field is preferred 
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role 
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and plumbing is considered an asset 
  • Must possess a valid class “G” license with a clean driving abstract 
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques 
  • Physically capable and available to work overtime when needed, including weekends, public holidays, and some evenings 
  • Effective problem-solving skills 
  • Must be well organized and able to prioritize tasks 
  • Experience in road maintenance and construction methods 
  • Ability to operate various maintenance and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, email) 
  • Good communication (both verbal and written), public relations, and conflict resolution skills

The Township offers 40 hours per week with a salary range of $33.46 to $41.83 per hour (based on the approved 2024 pay grid) that will be commensurate with your experience and qualifications, plus a comprehensive benefits package and OMERS pension plan.

Wage Details

$33 - $41 per hour
