Job Description

LOCATION: Parkside Child Care Centre/St. Jude’s Catholic School - 30 Caffyn Street, Ingersoll, ON.
START DATE: September 2023
HOURS: 25 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: Dietary Planner $19.19/hour
Enhanced Staff Facilitator 19.85/hour

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a unique dual role in which you have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life through support and nutrition! Your role would be to provide support as a Dietary Planner, and then as an Enhanced Staff Facilitator in the early learning environment.
Your role as a Dietary Planner would be to purchase, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in the Child Care Centre, under the direction of the Child Care Supervisor. This position will give you the opportunity to celebrate diversity on a daily basis through menu planning and implementation.
Your role as an Enhanced Staff Facilitator would be to work collaboratively within the early learning program and model inclusive practices by supporting all children in a positive manner. This position will give you the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children, and provide support to the program alongside your team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
• Engage in activities based on the children’s needs and interests
• Excellent communication skills: written, oral, listening and non-verbal
• Works as a co-operative and respectful member of the team
• Adhere to all licensing requirements as set out by the Child Care and Early Years Act
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as established by the Board of Directors of Good Beginnings
• Familiarity with the following curriculum/resources would also be an asset:

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

We are seeking to fill this position with a compassionate, reliable, friendly, energetic and engaged professional. The successful candidate will be required to possess the following qualifications:
• Experienced and passionate about working with children
• Experienced in preparing and serving nutritious snacks and meals
• A diploma (or current students) in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Worker, Recreation and Leisure, Educational Support Worker, Elementary Education-Primary division, Educational Assistant, Social Service Worker or Developmental Service Worker would be considered a strong asset
• A member in good standing of the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (if applicable)
• Current Certification in Standard First Aid (Level C), including Infant and Child CPR
• Current Police Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Safe Food Handling Certificate
