MAIN DUTIES:
Oversees the effective and efficient delivery and organization of Woodingford Lodge nursing services ensuring all legislative, moral and ethical obligations are met and acts as Director of Care under the Fixing Long Term Care Act (FLTCA), 2021. All Woodingford Lodge employees are responsible for supporting the home’s focus on Person and Family-Centred care by promoting and encouraging residents to be an active partner in their health care, the Director of Care directly oversees the Assistant Director of Care and Behavioral Supports Ontario Team.
Education
Experience Required
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-secondary degree in Nursing. Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Completion of a certificate/diploma in gerontology studies or long-term care management would be an asset.
• Demonstrated management experience in a unionized environment. Experience in a long-term care setting is an asset.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutes and regulations related to Long-Term Care and program specific
operations including the Resident’s Bill of Rights, Fixing Long Term Care Act and occupational health and safety.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver programs, services and outcomes.
• Ability to demonstrate the required competencies for this position in alignment with Oxford County’s competency framework.
• Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, lead and empower teams and guide effective project management outcomes.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and a vehicle with insurance is required.
