Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Community Services, the Facility Operator (1) is responsible for performing general maintenance, custodial duties and program requirements as assigned, in the operation and maintenance of assigned facilities in the Community Services Department.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Performing a variety of duties associated with the operation of the arena facility including the ice re-surfacer, ice edger etc.
- Performing maintenance, repairs and other operational duties to ensure the safe operation of facilities, parks, trails, playing fields etc.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to customer concerns and needs.
- Operate and maintains machinery, trucks, ice resurface, mowers and other maintenance equipment and tools.
Education
Experience Required
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Completion of Grade 12 education.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including afternoon and weekend work.
- ORFA Recreation Facility Operators Designation is an asset.
- A valid “G” license is required.
- Previous experience working in a parks and recreation setting is considered an asset.
