Job Description

Join South Gate Center as a summer student fulfilling the role of Graphic Arts Technician.

This full-time, temporary role is from July 2nd, 2025 – August 29th,2025

  • This position is with South Gate Centre, 191 Old Wellington St S Woodstock. 
  • This position reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager

Hours: Days, some evenings and weekend shifts

Responsibilities & Skills Required:

  • Assist in designing and producing a digital monthly newsletter and program guide.
  • Help with Manager in creating an advertising campaign and package for advertisers.
  • Marketing initiatives and social media management. 
  • Maintain up to date archives of all marketing files.
  • Plan and implement social media and social proof campaigns for specific marketing goals with the manager.
  • Website maintenance and support and online software management and support Wix.
  • Create and design posters, tickets, brochures.
  • Assist with communications for announcements, promotions, press releases etc. 
  • Keep up to date with industry specific trends and activities that are utilized to communicate with customers.
  • Assisting with keeping up to date with best practices in writing for the web and social media.
  • Keep the integrity of the South Gate Centre's Branding/Communications Guides. 
  • Assist with communications of South Gate Centre’s major related initiatives e.g. Special events, fundraisers, community partners, capital campaign.
  • Work with staff, volunteers and community partners to promote SGC. 
  • Attend community events and meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Experience Required

Qualifications:

  • Computer Skills: Excellent analytical skills, very strong understanding of computers, working knowledge of Microsoft office suite; competency in data collection, project creation skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in cash handling - involving accounting procedures, reconciliation, counting and managing receipts.
  • Quality customer support and multitasking skills.
  • Creative & thoughtful team player.
  • Ability to take positive initiative and work independently.
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance.

Assets: 

  • Experience managing e-commerce product inventory.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills. 
  • Retail or office experience.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C.
  • Self-starter, creative problem solver with good decision-making skills.
  • experience working with Seniors and or Volunteers

Wage Details

$17.2 per hour
