Job Description
Stubbe’s is a reputable family-owned and operated company with over 40 years of experience in the industry. Stubbe’s started as a small precast company catering to the agricultural market and have since grown into a diversified company offering a wide range of concrete-related products and services.
Position is located in in Harley, ON ( between Brantford and Woodstock), must have reliable transportation as we are located in a rural area.
The Senior Accountant will support the financial operations of the company by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with accurate financial reporting. This role works closely with the Assistant Controller and other departments to contribute to the company’s financial goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a family-owned business environment.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
- Assist with completing month-end procedures and reconciliations for inventory, deferred revenue, accruals, overhead, etc. together with the existing team in a very efficient and timely manner.
- Assist with reviewing financial results of individual companies monthly.
- Analyzes development projects from a financial perspective along with the Assistant Controller.
- Analyzes specific job results by revenue type, (e.g., overall margins on large supply jobs), ensuring we reach our target margins.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
- Assists the VP of Finance with year-end financial reports where required.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
- Other duties are requested by management.
Education
Experience Required
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Demonstrated strong experience in an accounting role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with ERP systems is required.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other departments and team members.
