Job Description
The Township of South-West Oxford with a population of 7,730 is one of five rural Townships within the
County of Oxford requires a full-time Public Works Equipment Operator. Strategically located along the
Highway 401 corridor in the southwest corner of Oxford County, we offer a well-connected transportation
network of Provincial, County, and Municipal roadways, supporting a thriving environment for residents
and businesses alike.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating vehicles and
equipment – including road graders, tandem trucks, sanders, front end loaders, backhoes, tractors, and
power tools – to support road maintenance, construction, winter servicing, and the upkeep of ditches and
parks.

Education
Experience Required
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12 or equivalent).
- At least two (2) years experience working with heavy machinery such as road graders, loaders,
backhoes. - Minimum two (2) year CVOR, tandem or tri-axle truck driving experience.
- Must possess a valid class “AZ” license (or valid “DZ” and obtain “AZ” within 1 year).
- Knowledge of road construction techniques.
- Equipment maintenance experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Safe and efficient operations of trucks and equipment in all weather conditions.
