Job Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall functioning of all campground facilities: including camp owned cabins, tent sites and RV sites, communal buildings such as restrooms, equipment, and grounds. This hands-on role ensures the safety, cleanliness, and operability of all areas to provide a positive experience for campers and staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can work independently and lead seasonal maintenance staff or volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
● Facility Maintenance:
○ Inspect, repair, and maintain camp owned cabins, tent sites, RV ground site and hookups, washrooms, kitchens, and recreational buildings.
○ Ensure HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems are functioning safely and efficiently.
○ Perform carpentry, painting, minor construction, and general repairs as needed.
○ Maintain company vehicles including work trucks and golf carts.
● Groundskeeping:
○ Maintain camp roads, trails, lawns, and landscaping.
○ Clear debris, manage tree trimming, and ensure pathways are safe.
○ Handle seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf clearing, and site preparation.
● Utilities and Systems:
○ Monitor and maintain water systems, septic tanks, and waste disposal.
○ Check and maintain backup generators, propane tanks, and RV utility hookups.
● Safety and Compliance:
○ Conduct routine safety checks of all facilities and equipment.
○ Maintain compliance with local health, fire, and safety codes.
○ Keep up-to-date records of maintenance tasks and inspections.
● Inventory and Supplies:
○ Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
○ Order materials as needed and track maintenance budgets.
● Staff Supervision:
○ Hire, train, and supervise seasonal maintenance assistants or volunteers.
○ Assign daily tasks and oversee work quality.
Hours:
- Summer season (May through to October): 40-50 hours per week
- Winter season (November through to April): 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday to Friday On call Weekends as needed

Education
Experience Required
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or related trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Strong knowledge of campground systems and maintenance needs.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve under time constraints.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting 50+ lbs. and performing physical tasks regularly.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license (required); ability to operate maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g., Backhoe, mower, tractor).
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings during peak season.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in seasonal facility openings and winterizations.
- Basic knowledge of septic and water treatment systems.
- Experience supervising staff or coordinating with vendors.
- Ability to set boundaries and work within self motivated prioritization
