VALO BioMedia Canada Inc. is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist for the new location in Woodstock, Ontario.

Today, we supply our customers from a global production network, ensuring that we combine the advantages of local production (such as local service, short transport routes) with the security of supply of an international network. Our newest location is in Woodstock, Ontario and we are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist.
Responsibilities:
This person’s primary job responsibilities are to develop and maintain the quality management system for VALO BioMedia Canada Inc. This job requires a high degree of professionalism, self-motivation, commitment, and desire for continuous learning in supporting the executive staff on a wide variety of tasks.
This position requires a person who is capable of communicating with others in an analytical manner within different technical areas of expertise. The achievement of results and involvement in a variety of tasks which call for accuracy and attention to detail are important aspects of the job. Following SOPs, adherence to rules and systems, and the ability to maintain quality and standards are critically important.
Specific duties required to be performed include the following:
- This person’s primary job responsibility is to perform Quality Management tasks in day to day setting that allows VALO BioMedia Canada to operate in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), related forms and documents, preparing and eventually leading costumer and authority audits will be the main focus of this position.
- Must have a high degree of professionalism, self-motivation, commitment, and desire for continuous learning in supporting the executive staff on a wide variety of tasks.
- Capable of communicating with others in an analytical manner within different technical areas of expertise.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- The achievement of results and involvement in a variety of tasks which call for accuracy and attention to detail are important aspects of the job.
- Creation and implementation of procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures, Forms, and Documents
- Assist with employee training
- Implementation of online training system
- Perform documented inspections and internal audits as directed by VALO Management
- Participate and eventually lead costumer audits
- Supplier Evaluation
- Responsible for Quality documentation, including Customer Complaint Records, Deviations, Nonconformance Reports, OOS Investigations
- Must be able to lift and hold 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to work weekends when required
- All other duties necessary for the successful operation of VALO BioMedia Canada Inc.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Verbal (including public) Communication skills, Written Communication skills, Time Management skills, Administrative skills, Team building skills,
Poultry technical knowledge (desired)
Current driver’s license and a clean driving record
Able to lift and hold 50 lbs
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Ability to search out errors, rectify omissions, perfect systems and procedures which will ultimately raise the quality and standards of all tasks undertaken.
Develop and comply with the systems, procedures, rules, objectives and timelines set by the organization and take a disciplined approach when undertaking tasks.
Work within a technical or specialist area of expertise in order to continuously improve the quality of the service and/or the product provided.
Develop networks and identify resources as and when necessary.
Develop trust in people and be willing to smooth relationships and advise and assist others.
Be a self-starter in order to achieve tasks and overcome problems as well as provide direction for others.
Be proactive and energetic in the work situation, seeking to get things done and at the same time deal with a variety of tasks.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
2-year degree in agriculture or related life science program.
Alternatively, a minimum of 3 (three) years of experience working within the food sector, poultry or in a quality assurance related role may be substituted in lieu of the education requirement.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient level of understanding of the use and operation of computers
Microsoft Windows and associated software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel as well as internet research skills and ability to learn specific company software.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out and give out instructions communicated in written or verbal form and flexibility to effectively deal with problems involving multiple variables in complex situations.
Ability to perform the job under a high pressure environment and meet deadlines set by the management.
Complete projects and special assignments by establishing objectives; determining priorities; managing time; problem solving; making adjustments to plans.
EXPOSURES:
Hazardous chemicals, pesticides, electrical systems, flammable gases, dirty environment.
DEVICES:
The position includes a company issued laptop and cell phone.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
- This position reports to the Managing Director of the company.
