Job Description

Position Summary:

 

Recruiting for anticipated full-time vacancies and CCPN

 

The Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) was established by Ontario Health (Health Force Ontario) to encourage Registered Nurses (RNs) to work in Ontario. This program offers a $25,000 incentive to eligible nurses who commit to working full-time for two years in an approved healthcare setting.

 

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for anticipated Registered Nurse vacancies and CCPN positions in the Emergency department. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides client care in accordance with the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. 

 

Our Emergency Department (ED) offers 24 hour care / 7 days per week. There is a physician on call to the ED at all times. Registered Nurses that are specially trained in emergency care are there to support patients and families.

 

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
  • Minimum of 1-year recent Critical Care experience is required.
  • Successful completion of a Critical Care Course is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year recent Medical/Surgical experience is preferred.
  • Current B.L.S. is required.
  • Current A.C.L.S. is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships within a team to contribute to a positive work life.
  • Is cognizant of emotions and experiences of others while communicating with patients, families, and team members.
  • Able to recognize the importance of managing your emotions and the impact that it has on team morale and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. 

Qualifications for CCPN:

  • Have not been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired.
  • Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Begin employment between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026.
  • Commit to two-years of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer.
  • Not have previously participated in the CCPN.
  • Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.
  • Not be hired through the Nursing Graduate Guarantee program.

Other Pertinent Conditions:

  • Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, stat holidays, day, evening and night shifts
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check, and meet Health Clearance requirements as a condition of the job offer.
  • Please be advised that as part of the selection process, a reference check will be conducted.
  • Salary Range: As per the ONA Collective Agreement ($39.07 per hour - $56.00 per hour)
