Job Description
Casual Supply Educator
Location: Various locations throughout Woodstock, Tavistock, and Ingersoll. Flexibility to travel to various locations on short notice is required.
Hours: Hours may vary (typically on a call-in basis, or pre-booked when possible). No minimum hours guaranteed.
Pay/Compensation:
- Unqualified non-RECE – $19.20
- Qualified non-RECE – $19.85
- RECE – $24.86
*This wage includes $2.00/hour as per the Provincial Child Care Wage Enhancement and CWELCC where applicable.
Position Summary: The successful candidates will provide care for children from birth to 12 years of age, in a group setting under the direction of Good Beginnings Day Nursery. The role of the successful candidates will be to fill in for employee absences, whether those absences are due to illness, vacation, or other breaks. Typically, there is no established pattern to work hours, and no regular hours are guaranteed. The majority of our programs operate from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm so shifts may fall anywhere within those hours. Supply opportunities are available at all of our 13 School Age Programs, as well as at our 4 Child Care Centres, must be flexible to supply on an on-call basis for multiple locations.
The successful candidate must adhere to all licensing requirements under the Child Care and Early Years Act and be a passionate, engaged educator committed to creating inclusive, child-centered environments. Excellent communication skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging as aligned with Good Beginnings’ values. Education
Experience Required
We are seeking friendly, energetic and engaged individuals, who possess the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Worker, Recreation and Leisure, Educational Support Worker, Educational Assistant, Social Service Worker or Developmental Service Worker
- A member in good standing of the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (if applicable)
- Students studying in the above fields are also welcome to apply
- Access to reliable transportation to work across various locations throughout Woodstock
- Prior to starting, must possess:
- Current Certification in Standard First Aid, including Infant and Child CPR
- Current Police Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check acceptable to Good Beginnings
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
