Job Description

Mar-Co Products Inc. is a company built on a solid heritage in the clay industry. We bring the know-how and expertise to our production of custom clay mixes for baseball diamonds, running tracks, and other sports field surfaces, and the manufacturing and bagging of products for our wholesale stone and aggregate division.

With deep roots in the clay and brick industry, we’ve grown into an innovative, B2B-focused supplier with production facilities in both Canada and the U.S. Our team is committed to quality, service, and building lasting relationships with customers and suppliers, supported by ongoing product innovation and responsive logistics.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Freight Coordinator to join our operations team on a full-time basis. This role ensures customer orders are shipped accurately, safely, and on time, while maintaining strong communication between the yard, carriers, and customers. The Freight Coordinator also provides support to the Yard Dispatch function as needed, helping to coordinate customer pick ups and truck loading activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working collaboratively to solve logistical challenges.

Anticipated Start Date: October/November 2025

What You’ll Do

  • Arrange pick ups and deliveries with carriers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Issue rate requests and obtain freight quotes for product costing purposes and spot shipments.
  • Track shipments and update customers or team members on delivery status.
  • Resolve freight related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Drive cost savings through competitively quoting and negotiating freight rates with carriers.
  • Oversee and drive the full implementation and use of the new Transportation Management System (TMS), ensuring all freight activity is routed through the system and staff are properly trained.
  • Provide backup and support for yard dispatch operations, as needed, assisting with operating the truck scale and communicating load requirements with yard operators (using CB radio).

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in freight coordination, logistics, or shipping/receiving.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with ERP or TMS systems (experience with M1 is an asset).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem solving and follow-up skills.
  • Willingness to support early start-times and participate in a hands-on environment.

Why Join Us?

  • Full-time schedule with a 7:00 a.m. start time. Potential for additional hours.
  • Be part of a respected, growing company in a dynamic industry.
  • Supportive team environment with opportunities for growth.
  • While we don’t post specific salary ranges, we’re committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and offer a generous benefits package.
