Position Overview

We are seeking a Furniture Maker – General Labourer to join our manufacturing team. This is a junior-level position, ideal for someone with hands-on experience in manufacturing who takes pride in their work and values precision and quality. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day production of furniture components made from wood and recycled plastics.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the manufacturing and assembly of furniture components
  • Operate woodworking machinery and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Perform sanding, gluing, finishing, and quality control tasks
  • Measure and cut materials accurately based on design specifications
  • Support shop organization, material handling, and production workflow
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Education

Secondary School Diploma

Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing facility using power tools
  • Proficient in math – ability to take accurate measurements and perform basic calculations (a math test may be provided during the interview)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically capable of lifting and handling wood and furniture components
  • Must have reliable transportation — the location is NOT accessible by public transit
