Job Description

Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

 

The primary location for this position is: Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll

 

Qualifications:

  • Post -Secondary Diploma in Medical Ultrasound Technology required.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) required.
  • Eligible and/or current registration with Sonography Canada required.
  • Proof of professional liability insurance required.
  • Current BCLS certification is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and accommodate urgent requests and to perform high quality ultrasound examinations in a proficient and timely manner.
  • Experience entering relevant data into the diagnostic imaging information system and preparing accurate reports for physician interpretation.
  • Ability to assess, evaluate and respond to patients based on age and or other functional limitations and notify the radiologist of significant scan deviations that may necessitate immediate attention to the patient.
  • Exceptional patient care skills.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral and demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a busy hospital environment
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to operate equipment safely at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Proficiency in with patient electronic record & PACS

Other pertinent conditions:

Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operation needs of the hospital.

  • Salary per the OPSEU collective agreement ($36.84 per hour to $51.77 per hour)
