Job Description

General Description/Purpose

Willow Lake Campground and RV Park in Woodstock Ontario (East Zorra Tavistock) is looking for a Temporary, Seasonal employee. Starting date Mid-May or earlier to Mid-September or later with some flexibility with the start and end dates. Must have ability to work days, evenings, and most if not all, weekends.

The successful person is a Customer Focused, positive, friendly individual, who places the customer experience as a priority, and is also willing to do duties to support the campground operation including landscaping, yard work, food service, washroom cleaning and other duties. Candidate will be required to wear and provide own safety footwear.

List of duties and experiences are highlighted below, and although the list highlights the majority of duties, individual must also be willing to perform other tasks as required. Training on all aspects will be provided.

Duties

  • Upbeat and positive personality, customer focused, deliver quality and genuine customer service 
  • Greet guests and check in campers; process payments
  • Answer phone and take reservations
  • Provide tourist information regarding Oxford County and distribute local tourism and promotional materials
  • Address customer questions daily, and make every effort to resolve any issues
  • Work with a cash register and use a computerized point of sale 
  • Set up, tear down, and participate in special events
  • Cook and serve food in onsite food truck
  • Clean washrooms/showers and dispose of garbage
  • Clean campsites and fire pits, remove and dispose of garbage
  • Multitasker, must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Willing and able to work outdoors and be exposed to various weather conditions

Work Schedule

  • Requires morning, afternoon and evening availability any day of the week
  • Weekend availability required
  • Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advanced notification and approval by supervisor
  • Hourly Part Time Seasonal: Generally scheduled 24 to 40 hours per week respectively; more hours may be required based on the needs of the campground
  • Hours vary based on seasonality and promotional events

Experience Required

Experience:

  • Experience in interacting with the public in a tourism / reception / customer service capacity
  • Experience handling cash and operating computerized point of sale system (training will be provided for the park’s specific system)
  • Experience working with the public
  • Food service experience a bonus but not required
  • Experience working in a team environment, but can also work independently
  • Experience using lawnmowers and other motorized vehicles
  • Experience using weed whipper, lawn mowers and other lawn tools
  • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the park
