Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Electrical Preparation Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role focuses on the preparation, assembly support, and pre-wiring of transformer panel boxes, outlets, and breaker components. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and experienced in electrical preparation work within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare enclosures and panel boxes for assembly, including drilling, mounting, and layout of components
  • Pre-wire and install electrical components such as transformers, outlets, and breakers
  • Cut, strip, label, and organize wires according to specifications
  • Perform basic soldering where required for secure electrical connections
  • Assist in routing wiring neatly and efficiently within panel enclosures
  • Inspect materials and components for defects prior to assembly
  • Support technicians with final assembly and wiring tasks
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and identify issues in pre-assembly stages
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in electrical assembly, panel prep, or manufacturing is an asset
  • Basic understanding of electrical components including transformers, breakers, and outlets
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment
  • Experience with wire preparation (cutting, stripping, labeling)
  • Basic soldering skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions or simple diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Reliable and punctual

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Repetitive tasks involving hands and arms
  • Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)

Experience Required

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with electrical panel building or power distribution equipment
  • Familiarity with CSA/UL standards
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment

Wage Details
