Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Electrical Cord & Lighting Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves assembling, soldering, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical cords, lighting products, and related components. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical cords, plugs, connectors, and lighting products according to specifications
  • Perform soldering of electrical connections and components to ensure strong, reliable joints
  • Perform repairs on damaged or defective cords and lighting equipment
  • Test finished products to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Inspect materials and components for defects
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing tools (e.g., multimeters) and resolve faults efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
  • Assist with packaging and shipping of completed products as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in electrical assembly, manufacturing, repair, or soldering is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components
  • Ability to use hand tools and electrical testing equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good soldering technique and attention to detail in electrical connections
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to read and follow instructions or simple diagrams
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Reliable and punctual

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Repetitive tasks involving hands and arms
  • Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)

  • Experience working with industrial cords or lighting systems
  • Familiarity with CSA/UL standards
  • Previous experience with repetitive production soldering
