In-Home Recreation Volunteer - Woodstock and Oxford County

Are you looking to make a difference in a person's life living with dementia? If so, we need you! We are currently recruiting volunteers to be a part of our In-Home Recreation Program.

Volunteers in the In-Home Recreation program are matched 1:1 with a client in the city/town of their choice and meet once/week in the client’s home for 2 hours. You will provide meaningful activities and be a regular social connection for our client's living with dementia, while allowing the care partners to have respite time. Volunteers in this role form long lasting and meaningful relationships with clients, and rave about the program! Schedule:

• One 2-hour visit per week (morning or afternoon)
• Monday–Friday only (no evenings/weekends)
• Location matched to your travel preferences (e.g., hometown)

Expectations:

• Weekly visits for 12 weeks
• Must be 18+ and proficient in English

Onboarding (3–5 weeks):

• Interview, references, police vulnerable sector check
• 3 online training modules + 3 documents to review/sign
• 1.5-hour virtual training session (scheduled to your availability)
• 3 daytime orientation shifts at a Social Recreation Program near you (London, St. Thomas, Tillsonburg, or Woodstock)

Placement Timeline:

• Client match may take 3–5 weeks after onboarding completion
