Volunteer Job Description
Are you looking to make a difference in a person's life living with dementia? If so, we need you! We are currently recruiting volunteers to be a part of our In-Home Recreation Program.
Volunteers in the In-Home Recreation program are matched 1:1 with a client and meet once/week in the client’s home for 2 hours. You will provide meaningful activities and be a regular social connection for our client's living with dementia, while allowing the care partners to have respite time. Volunteers in this role form long lasting and meaningful relationships with clients, and rave about the program! Required Qualifications/Training: Willing to complete all required training provided by the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners. Applicants must be 18+.
Skills Preferred: High Beginner ESL - Advanced ESL we have clients who speak various languages, but all have an understanding of English
Strong Communication skills
Organization skills
Additional Opportunity Information: Travel to client's home required once/week for 2 hours.
We require a minimum 12-visit consistent commitment for one client.
Job Type: Casual
Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday
