Job Description
YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Logistics Manager is responsible for goods warehousing, shipping, and receiving tasks of the manufacturing plant. They guarantee stock reliability and preparation quality before shipment. As this person is usually the first contact with the customers, they must use strategy to find answers and solutions to the customers’ requests. Although they are responsible for receiving, shipping and the logistics for the site, they must participate in the performance of the plant and support the other departments.
THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE FOR YOU
- Managing inventories, stock levels and location of goods
- Supervising and training all the Department employees
- Responsibility for supervision and proper operation of warehouse equipment, especially forklifts
- Ensure department personnel’s all relevant training and licenses are maintained and updated as needed
- Initiating maintenance requests & routine regulatory safety inspections on all mobile equipment
- Planning and supervising workloads
- Preparing and shipping finished products
- Ensuring the reception and transfer of raw materials
- Setting and managing departmental budgets
- Defining and achieving objectives regarding quality of service and cost optimization.
- Delivering solutions to any logistics problems while maintaining a high quality of service
- Ensure all the health and safety rules are followed and adhere to at all times.
- Assist in negotiation and management of freight carriers
- Organizing, coordinating, and managing outbound freight requests as required
- Manage customs documents and requests when needed
- Supporting the other service offered by the company to the customers
- Attend off site training as per job requirements – training for first aid, health and safety checks, train the trainer, visiting other sites etc.
- Any other related duties requested by the Plant Manager.
Education
Experience Required

Education
Formal education in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, an asset CCS Certified (Certified customs specialist), an asset Any combination of training and experience will be considered.
Knowledge and Competencies
5 years of experience in supervision (required)
3 years of experience in shipping and receiving in general (required)
Good knowledge of hazardous materials handling methods
Good knowledge of occupational health and safety
Skills and Abilities

Organizing finished product replenishment
Organized and methodical personality
Ability to establish simple and effective communication tools
