Job Description

YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM

Reporting to the plant manager, the individual will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the quality management system. They will oversee product quality by managing non-conformities and corrective actions. They will work closely with Quality and R&D laboratory technicians as well as the plant management team.

* Travel will be required to Drummondville, QC once a month for approximately 6 months for training.

THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE FOR YOU

  • Coordinate and perform quality testing;
  • Make necessary decisions during quality inspections (release, quarantine, or disposition);
  • Manage and follow up on non-conformities;
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective actions related to non-conformities;
  • Maintain the ISO 9001 quality management system;
  • Ensure that the quality management system is established, implemented, maintained, and continuously improved in accordance with internal standards;
  • Manage and continuously improve the quality documentation system;
  • Maintain quality databases and prepare monthly quality performance reports (quality indicators);
  • Manage raw materials (non-conformity management, testing support, specification file initiation, claims, supplier communication);
  • Meet with stakeholders involved in the quality process (suppliers, buyers, etc.);
  • Participate in and/or represent the plant during internal and external quality audits (within other Soprema divisions as well as at supplier sites).
  • Participate in improving production performance;
  • Collaborate in the evaluation of suppliers;
  • Ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment and manage the calibration program;
  • Perform any other related duties.

Education

Post Secondary Degree

Experience Required

THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Your Education

  • College diploma in chemistry or another related field.

Your Knowledge

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory science;

  • Experience with polymers (an asset);

  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard (essential);

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and French.

  • 40-hour work week;

  • Handling of chemical products;

  • Mandatory use of safety glasses and safety boots at all times;

  • Use of cartridge respirators, gloves, and protective coveralls in certain work areas;

  • Handling of construction materials.
