Job Description

SUMMER STUDENTS WANTED!

South Gate Centre is a vibrant, community-focused seniors Centre serving as a hub for connection, programs, and services – while providing social, educational and wellness opportunities. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for summer students to fill in some key roles, supporting our office staff and strengthening operations during the summer months. These students will help us deliver exceptional experience tour members and volunteers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, preparing and organizing of summer events and activities for members
  • Develop event materials, including set plans, schedules and resources
  • Support event execution by helping with set-ups/tear-downs
  • Coordinate supplies for events and assist event leaders to run the program in a smooth manner
  • Participate in post-event evaluation and contribute ideas for improvements
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work space, perform minor maintenance tasks under supervision (replace light bulbs, simple repairs, touch-ups)
  • Support organization of storage areas and preparing event equipment for use
