Volunteer Job Description

The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a group of young people who provide guidance, lived-experience insight, and co-design supports to strengthen the programs, services, communications and decisions for Planet Youth with in Elgin-St.Thomas and Oxford area. 

 

Role:

  • Co-designing events and resources for local youth
  • Support inclusive engagement practices
  • Build Youth leadership and skills
  • Provide Youth-informed advice to improve connection to the work

     

Provided:

  • Food and accommodations to attend meetings/events
  • Leadership and skill development training as required
  • Community service hours
  • Fun way to connect and support your community

Experience Required

Requirements:

  • Live anywhere in Oxford County, Elgin County, or St. Thomas
  • Jr. YAB Leaders - 13-16yrs old
  • Sr. YAB leaders - 17-22yrs old
  • Commit to creating a safe space to share and build together a stronger community for all youth
  • 1-2 hours of time each month for meetings and/or events
