Job Description

Casual support worker (independent contractor) required for 36 year old make with Autism in Woodstock Ontario.  No personal care required. Focus is on supporting client to access his own community in meaningful ways, and to experience day trips within Ontario to locations such as Toronto and Niagara Falls, etc.  Some trips may involve coach bus trips, and others will require use of worker's reliable vehicle with mileage paid.  Some months may require one 12 hour day trip while others may require 3 hours weekly in and around Woodstock.  Day's, evenings and weekends on a casual basis approximately 12 hours per month arranged between clients family.  Great opportunity for a caring and compassionate person to experience paid travel and entertainment while working in a meaningful way with a dynamic neurodiverse client!

Experience Required

Reliable vehicle with insurance, English Speaking, excellent communication skills, patient, kind, reliable and responsible, fun and adventurous mindset with a willingness to try new things, ability to prioritize clients goals and interests, navigational skills, use of Google Maps, ability to follow itinerary, calm and flexible under pressure, ability to request full receipts with required information and submit to employer at the end of each day trip. Payment to employee bi-weekly.  Knowledge of or experience in Passport Funding an asset.  Current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check required.  1-2 years of experience and or education working with individuals with developmental disabilities an asset but not required.  1 Personal and 1 Professional reference required.
